It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming all my esteemed colleagues of Jharkhand Athletics Association. I extend my sincere best wishes to all the members for displaying missionary zeal and enthusiasm during past four years. But still lot of work has to be done. At one hand we have been able to conduct all our Championships in time and has been able to send the Teams at National Competitions and on the other side JAA has been a pillar for Athletics Federation of India for holding many National Competition in befitting manner. That is why JAA has been given the responsibility to host 3rd International and 7th National Race walk championships.
I am of the opinion that we have lot of potential in Race Walk for which we need to workout but unfortunately all of us are not working on the same pace and wave length.
The previous tenure of FOUR years has been magnificent as many of our athletes excelled at National & International Level but at the same time due to the personal interest of few of our Members we had some embarrassment on account of overage participation which we need to curb from grassroot level.
I would like to mention that we received support from many individuals and sponsors to make our journey easy sailing and would like to mention their contribution for the upliftment of athletics in the State of Jharkhand. Specially my sincere thanks to Mr K KSoan, JSSPS, ONGC, Rungta Mines, State Bank of India and many others. We need their support in future also.
The activities at District level needs to be strengthen and for this every District Association needs to invite at least 20 Schools during their Championships. We are starting direct recognition to Schools from JAA also the level of District Competition needs to be improved. From 2020 we will start using fotofinish in State Championships.
Past years were very productive for us where couple of players performed very well at International level. Many Coaches have qualified in IAAF Level-1 and IAAF Level-2 Courses. They need to transform their knowledge in acts now so that our competition level grows up.
I also request all my President & Secretaries to make their full efforts to organise District Championships in proper manner and participate at NIDJAM (an ambitious project of AFI) in full strength. Needless to add that NIDJAM is the biggest single sporting event in WORLD.
I appeal to all the President/Secretaries/Coaches/Technical officials/Sponsors to come forward our athlete could compete in 2024 Olympics and have a podium finish.
I look forward to the support of the office bearers of the State Association, District Athletics Associations to make their best efforts to further promote our object in best possible manner.
Happy New Year to all my fellow colleagues.
(MADHU KANT PATHAK)
PRESIDENT, JAA
